We'll start with the positive, it tasted good. The Amazon reviews of revive daily greens did not lie on that front. The fresh berry was a little sweet with the office being split down the middle on whether that was a good thing or not. Bu,t the chocolate flavor was good all in all with most of us liking it.
Now onto the not so good bit, we gave Revive MD Daily Greens to our testers for 6 weeks, both of which regularly use greens powders, and the results were a resounding flop. Although both did mention it was decent for gut health and bloating, but that's not too surprising as the probiotic dose is fine.
Although one of our two testers reported Revive Daily Greens performed less well as a digestion aid than their preferred products which aren't nearly so focused on gut health.
Inulin (FOS) - 3 Grams
Inulin is a type of soluble, prebiotic fiber that aids gut health, digestion, and nutrient absorption. This will speed up weight loss, limit fat storage, boost energy levels, lower inflammation, treat constipation, and regulate blood sugar and cholesterol levels (1).
Unfortunately, these effects only happen if you consume at least 10 grams of inulin a day. As servings of Revive Daily Greens Powder have just 3 grams of inulin, it therefore won't be of any use.
Ground Flaxseed Powder - 1 Gram
Flax seeds are rich in alpha linoleic acid, a healthy fat which can aid blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol regulation, and treat issues like diabetes and metabolic syndrome.
The problem is, it will only do so if you consume 15 to 50 grams per day (2). This means the single gram of ground flaxseed powder in each serving of Revive Daily Greens Powder is essentially worthless.
Chia Seed - 1 Gram
Chia seeds are rich in dietary fibre and fatty acids, which has led to the belief that they can enhance gut health, protect the bowel, promote weight loss, and keep you feeling full.
However, most of these claims have never been proven, while those that have need at least 25 grams to be consumed per day in order to enjoy them (3). This means you won't see any benefits from the single gram of chia seeds present in Revive Daily Greens Powder.
Organic Wheat Grass Powder - 800 MG
Organic wheat grass powder is low in calories and rich in beneficial nutrients like vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. Some studies claim it can be used for reducing cholesterol, the risk of heart disease, cellular stress, inflammation, and arthritis symptoms.
The issue is, none of these claims have been conclusively proven. This means it is very possible that the presence of wheat grass powder in Revive Daily Greens Powder does nothing but take up space (4).
Organic Spirulina - 800 MG
Organic spirulina is a blue green algae full of antioxidants, fatty acids, minerals, proteins, and vitamins that can offer many health benefits.
It can boost your metabolism and body composition, suppress your appetite, help you lose weight, fight free radicals, prevent oxidative damage, reduce inflammation, blood pressure, and blood sugar levels, and boost heart health.
The problem is, it takes 8 grams of spirulina per day to achieve these effects (5). This means the 800 mg in Revive Daily Greens Powder will likely do nothing.
Organic Alfalfa Grass - 400 MG
Alfalfa grass is a good source of pinitol, an antioxidant capable of boosting your liver, kidney, and gut health and functions, supporting your other organs, and reducing inflammation.
Unfortunately, it is only proven to be capable of this if you consume it in massive quantities (6). This means the fairly small 400 mg present in Revive Daily Greens Powder is all but guaranteed to be worthless.
Organic Barley Grass - 400 MG
Barley grass contains a variety of essential nutrients and can provide health benefits like boosting your heart health, aiding fat and weight loss, and reducing cholesterol and blood sugar levels (7).
The thing is, between 5 and 15 grams is required to produce these effects, depending on which study you look at. Revive Daily Greens Powder containing just 400 mg therefore makes this yet another wasted ingredient.
Fermented Turmeric Powder - 200 MG
Turmeric contains curcumin, a powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory, which can neutralise free radicals, preventing oxidative stress and damage and reducing inflammation.
Unfortunately, not only is the 200 mg present here far below the minimum 1,500 mg dose needed to be effective and that's if the turmeric is unaturally high in curcumin. It usually only makes up about 10% of the turmeric and you need 500mg of it. These facts render its presence in Revive Daily Greens Powder pointless (8).
Organic Astragalus - 200 MG
Astragalus has anti inflammatory properties that can aid your liver, heart, and immune health and functions, boost testosterone production, and reduce cholesterol levels (9).
As you only need to consume a minimum of 30 mg per day to produce these effects, the 200 mg present here make astragalus a rare case of Revive Daily Greens Powder containing a beneficial dose of a useful ingredient.
Tomato Powder - 150 MG
While tomatoes themselves are well known to be a great addition to a healthy and balanced diet and offer a variety of benefits, there has never been any proof that taking them in powdered form can replicate these effects of offer any benefits.
Broccoli (100 MG Organic Broccoli Powder & 100 MG Organic Broccoli Sprout)
Broccoli has been liked to many health benefits, most notably the ability to lower your LDL cholesterol levels (10).
The issue is, broccoli extracts have only been shown to have a minimal effect on cholesterol levels and have never been proven to offer any of the other benefits the fresh vegetables can. This means its presence in Revive Daily Greens Powder likely serves no purpose at all.
Spinach Powder - 100 MG
Spinach is full of fibre, minerals, proteins, and vitamins. It offers health benefits like boosting vision and eye health, regulating blood pressure, enhancing immune and heart health, reducing oxidative stress, anxiety, and stress, and lowering the risk of heart disease (11).
However, as you must consume a minimum of 1,000 mg of spinach powder a day to see these effects, the 100 mg in servings of Revive Daily Greens Powder will do virtually nothing.
Carrot Powder - 100 MG
Much like with the powdered tomato, while carrots can be a great and healthy part of your daily diet, consuming powdered carrot has never been proven to offer any beneficial effects for your health.
Fermented Kale Powder - 50 MG
Kale powder is rich in phytochemicals, vitamins, and minerals, and it can help to reduce your cholesterol levels and risk of heart disease (12). However, it will only do this if you consume a minimum of 5 grams a day.
As Revive Daily Greens Powder features just 50 mg of kale per serving, it is therefore yet another instance of a useful ingredient being so weak that it can't do its job.
Organic Chlorella - 50 MG
Organic chlorella is a chlorophyte green algae full of antioxidants, minerals, and vitamins. It can raise your energy levels without causing blood sugar spikes, regulate your cholesterol and blood sugar levels, treat diseases and illnesses, detoxify the body, and aid your overall health.
With no optimal dose of chlorella currently agreed upon, it is possible the amount in Revive Daily Greens Powder may be beneficial. That said, 50 mg is still very low, so it shouldn't be relied upon too heavily to produce results (13).
Kelp Powder - 50 MG
Kelp is a seaweed that is being studied due to claims it may boost the immune system and prevent the absorption of carbohydrates. However, as all studies are still ongoing, there is no proof that the kelp in Revive Daily Greens Powder will actually do anything at all (14).
Fruit Powders - 350 MG (Organic Apple Powder - 50 MG, Organic Strawberry Powder - 50 MG, Kiwi Powder - 50 MG, Raspberry Fruit Powder - 50 MG, Cherry Powder - 50 MG, Blackberry Powder - 50 MG & Pineapple Powder - 50 MG)
Fruit powders are common additions to greens powders, as fresh fruit is well known for its sweet taste and the range of beneficial effects it can have on the body.
Unfortunately, most studies show that their powdered forms struggle to replicate these effects, especially if they are not consumed in massive doses.
As only 50 mg of each powdered fruit is present in Revive Daily Greens Powder, it appears they have been used more to draw people in, rather than for the actual effects that they will lend to the greens supplement.
Revive Probiotic Blend - 62.5 MG (25 Billion CFU)
The Revive Probiotic Blend contains 14 different probiotics, most of which have been shown to be beneficial to your production of healthy gut bacteria and gut health overall.
With 10 to 20 billion CFU of probiotics being required each day to be of use, this actually makes the blend a very good one. Unfortunately, it is far too little too late to save Revive Daily Greens Powder.
